Heavenly blue mauve

I love this colour so calming..............and I need some of that NOW!! I started on this little Angel Puff Scarf in the current YARN magazine and in Nicki Epsteins wonderful book I bought recently in Melbourne. I couldn't source Rowan Kidsilk Haze around here so am trialling a lace weight mohair and if it works out I will tell you what it is. Really looking forward to the felting of this little scarf, just need to find 4 dozen macadamia nuts.

I am so glad to be part of this KAL tribute to YARN issues 1-8 which I have gratefully read and reread, Barbara did a wonderful job as Editor and whatever other jobs needed to be done to get this great mag into print every 3 months. She wil be missed and I would like to thank her once again for all her help getting one of my felted bag patterns into print in Issue number 8. I had many questions and queries and she was always so quick to reply and guide me along. I hope I can also start and complete some of the other wonderful knits in my 'to do' list from YARN as a tribute to Barbara and her team.

Try hazel nuts - I think they're about the same size : ) It's going to look awesome!

Aw shucks! : ) Thanks for the nice words.

Do you think I can mail macadamias interstate? I've got a whole containerful here that have been thru one felting already with no ill effects! Let me know if you want 'em!

I just cast off my Angel Puff Scarf & am going to try marbles when I felt it tomorrow. I'll also be deciding on my next Yarn project.

It's a lovely colour, Lisa.

I'm doing your felted bag from Issue 8 - just up to the handles.

I was put off doing the Angel Puff by the thought of sourcing all those macadamias and not being able to eat them!

In Nicky's book she does say to use Chestnuts. Thank you all for your help, I now know where to source macadamias locally. I also have a whole lot of vase marbles so will probably just use those. I think I might buy some snagless hair elastics for this project also when I head into town tomorrow as I'm over halfway now with the scarf and really keen to try this sort of felting.

Oops, really looking forward to seeing your felted bag Taphophile. What sort of wool are you using? What colours? Great day for knitting here, it's pouring rain and we should be at a Surf Life Saving carnival but the kids have decided to do the Christmas baking which is much more fun.
